Mathes delivers two ways for Springfield

Owen Mathes used his feet and his bat to power Springfield to a 4-1 victory over Upper Darby in the Delco League Tuesday night.
Mathes scored on a wild pitch in the first inning to get the Colonials on the board and ripped a two-run single in the fifth inning to break the game open. He finished 2-for-2. Cole Palis broke a 1-1 deadlock with an RBI single in the third inning.
After giving up a pair of one-out singles, Andrew Cantwell got a consecutive fly balls to get out of a first-and-third jam in the seventh and finish off a complete game.
Steve Theisen and Tom Donahue had two hits each for the Blue Sox.
