Will Kelly, Gabe Encarnacion and Jimmy Kirk drove in one run each in the top of the fifth inning to lift the Colonials over league-leading Wayne.

With one out, Kelley ripped an RBI single, Encarnacion smacked an RBI double and Kirk singled to drive in the third run and give Springfield a 5-1 lead.

Wayne fought back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and one in the sixth but Mike Smith shut Wayne down in the seventh to finish off a complete-game eight-hitter for the win. Kirk and Luke Cantwell finished with two hits each for the Colonials.
