Mohollen’s fast game of small ball boosts Wayne to win

From the Daily Times posted 7/10/2021

Kevin Mohollen used his fleet feet to help lift Wayne to a 5-4 walk-off victory over Aston Valley in nine innings Friday.

Mohollen led off with a walk, stole second base, and moved to third on a wild pitch. With one out, Steven Wells lofted a fly to left field, enabling Mohollen to sprint home with the winning run.

Mohollen launched a game-tying, two-run homer in the seventh inning. Wells also went yard for Wayne, which recorded its league-leading 13th win of the season.

Frank Saviski pitched an inning of relief for the win. Brian Kane, Brett Mutz, Nate Side and Saviski combined for four innings of shutdown pitching out of the bullpen.

Sides finished 3-for-5 with a run scored and Wells went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Matt Domian and Brett Lesher homered for Aston Valley.
