DiSabatino leads Aston to win

Dante DiSabatino came through in the clutch for the Aston Valley Knights Wednesday night.

DiSabatino’s two-out, two-run single lifted the Knights to a 2-1 victory over the Springfield Colonials in the Delco League.

Matt Domian got the rally started with a single to lead off the inning. Shawn Haut followed with a double to put runners at second and third. After two strikeouts DiSabatino laced a 2-1 pitch to left field. Chris Murphy pitched a 1-2-3 seventh, his second inning in relief of starter Kyle Maxwell, to get the win.

Sean Phelan gave the Colonials a 1-0 lead when he brought home Matt Shepherd (two hits) with a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning. Mike Smith allowed six hits and struck out four in six innings for Springfield.
