Wayne surges late to rout Springfield

Steven Wells jacked a grand slam in the sixth inning as Wayne ran away from Springfield, 11-2, in Delco League action Wednesday.
Wayne led just 3-2 after five innings but then posted four-spots in the top of the sixth and seventh, paying off 15 total hits. Six players had multiple hits.
Frank Saviski had two hits and three RBIs. Kevin Mohollen reached base three times and scored three runs. Nate Sides, who walked three times, scored twice and added an RBI. Reece Malek scored twice to go with two hits.
Koll Peichel got the win with six strong innings, scattering six hits and striking out five. Sides finished it up.
Mike Smith doubled twice among three hits for the Colonials. Matt Shepherd added two hits and an RBI, and Will Kelley had a hit, a run scored and an RBI.
