Max Anastasio flexed his muscles at just the right time for Upper Darby Tuesday night.
Anastasio slugged a two-run home run with one out in the top of the seventh inning to lift the Blue Sox to an 8-6 victory over Marple Newtown in the Delco League.
Anastasio’s blast broke a 6-6 deadlock. After giving up a leadoff walk, reliever Brett Mutz set the Black Sox down in order to lock down the victory for the Blue Sox. Anastasio went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Christian Strickland also went deep while going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Corey Woodcock had a huge game for Marple Newtown. He drilled a two-run homer and a two-run single while going 3-for-4. Eric Anderson and Blaise Rantanen (2-for-4, two runs scored) slugged solo homers for the Black Sox.
