Wayne Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Chester

Wayne stole the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Chester on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Wayne batting in the top of the fifth when Dan Williams singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Wayne pitchers struck out seven, while Chester pitchers sat down seven. 

Wayne got things started in the first inning. Anthony Viggiano singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Chester tied things up at two. Mojica drove in one when he singled. 

Jonah Frankel earned the victory on the hill for Wayne. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out four. Ashton Raines, James Dougherty, and Cameron Mathes all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Wayne had seven hits in the game. Mike Raimo and Viggiano each had multiple hits for Wayne. Viggiano and Raimo all had two hits to lead Wayne. Wayne didn't commit a single error in the field. Drew Ehrlich had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.

Chester didn't commit a single error in the field. K L had the most chances in the field with one.
