Wayne 4, Aston Valley 3

from the daily times POSTED:

Jimmy Kingsbury, Sean Mohollen and Ben Burman made sure Wayne headed home with at least one win in the first two games of its Delco League semifinal series with Aston Valley.

Kingsbury went the distance, and Mohollen and Burman delivered the big blows in a three-run, third-inning outburst that powered Wayne to a 4-3 victory over the Knights in Game 2 Sunday afternoon at Buggy Field.

The best-of-5 series is tied, 1-1, and shifts to Villanova Stadium at Plymouth for Games 3 and 4 Tuesday and Wednesday.

Kingsbury allowed six hits and two runs and got out of a seventh-inning jam with the tying run at second to secure the win. Mohollen ripped a two-run single and Burman belted an RBI double in the third inning to erase a 2-1 deficit.

Mohollen finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored, while Burman had two hits.
