Chester 7, Aston Valley 6

Credit Jim Balk’s keen eyesight and knowledge proved beneficial for Chester Tuesday night. The veteran coach noticed that Aston Valley’s Rob Caruso failed to retouch second base while going back to first base after Tim Johnson made a running catch for the second out of the inning.

Chester appealed and Caruso was called out to end the game.

Chester scored the winning run in the top of the seventh inning on an error. Steve Wells hit a sacrifice fly to tie the contest. Alex Barker went 3-for-3 with two homers, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Wells was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI.
