Chism, Narberth hold off Concord

From the Daily Times posted 6/1/2019

T.J. Chism had a busy day Saturday.

First, he was at Neumann’s Bruder Field to hand out the John “Cakey” Dougherty/Jim “Jumbo” Faulker award to Strath Haven’s Dom Picone as the top pitcher in Delaware County.

Then the Sun Valley great and former Mets farmhand went over to Garnet Valley High School in time to help defending Delco League champ Narberth hold on for a 9-7 victory over the Concord Canes.

The Mudcats scored the first eight runs of the game before the Canes mounted a comeback and cut the deficit to two runs after five innings. But Chism tossed a scoreless sixth and Joe Ravert did the same in the seventh inning to secure the victory.

Kevin McGowan went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored to pace a 17-hit attack by Narberth. Steve DeBarberie also had three hits and two RBIs. Steve Furman collected three hits and one RBI, while

Chism contributed two hits and two RBIs.
