Three Wayne Pitchers Team Up In Shutout Victory Against Marple Newtown

Wayne took a commanding 2-0 series lead by defeateing Marple Newtown 4-0 on Tuesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. 

James Dougherty was credited with the victory for Wayne. He went four innings, allowing zero runs on five hits and striking out three. Matt Eiel and Reilly Degen entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Degen recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Wayne.

Drew Jackson took the loss for Marple Newtown. He surrendered four runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out six.

Wayne totaled seven hits. Dan Williams and Tommy Jacobs each collected two hits to lead Wayne. Wayne didn't commit a single error in the field. Cameron Mathes had six chances in the field, the most on the team.

Marple Newtown racked up nine hits. Corey Woodcock, Brain Reynolds, and Gio Morales all managed multiple hits for Marple.
