Wayne 8, Narberth 6

It wasn’t the prettiest game, but first-place Wayne once again found a way to win. Three pitchers combined to limit the Mudcats to two hits: Joe Miller, Matt Eiel and Cameron Mathes.

With the victory, Wayne (18-1, 54 points) has a 20-point lead in the standings over second-place Narberth (11-5-1, 34 points). Aston Valley and Marple Newtown are in a virtual tie for third place with 33 points.

Wayne took advantage of several walks and a few errors by Narberth. Offensively, Marple Newtown High state champion (and walk-off hero) Luke Zimmerman was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Peter Bocchino had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.
