Pappen, Vankoski get Wayne back on track

Wayne took over the Delco League lead just one day after a gut-wrenching loss dropped it into second place.

Alex Pappen delivered the game-tying RBI and Jim Vankoski scored on an error in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift Wayne to a 2-1 win over Marple Newtown Black Sox.

Bill Greenfield pitched two no-hit innings in relief, registering four strikeouts to get the win. Josh Rickards came in to get the last out for the save.

The victory gives Wayne a 13-5-1 record and 40 points, one more point than Narberth.
